Items Needed to Make This Pin Board
- A simple 8×10″ picture frame
- 12×12″ cork board
- 1 roll of printed burlap
- push pins
- sheet of craft gem decorations
- Scissors
How To Make this Easy Pin Board
- Using the glass from the picture frame cut the cork board and the burlap to it’s exact size. This is not difficult, you can score a line along the edge of the glass using your scissors, or just simply mark it with a pen or pencil and cut it out.
- Once cut you can begin to assemble your board. Layer the burlap, then the cork board and followed by the original backing on the picture frame. Secure it as you would a normal picture frame.
- Decorate your push pins with self adhesive gems. Simply cut each gem and stick on the end of the push pin.
- You can try to find push pins that already have gems on them, but in a pinch you can just make them yourself (and are likely less expensive).
- You may need to smooth down the burlap once turned over. Start from the middle and work towards each edge to smooth it.
- Insert your push pins and you are done!
I had a lot of burlap left from the roll, the cork board came in a package of 2 sheets and I have a lot of gems left over! So while the total cost for this craft is less than $5, it did cost more to buy all the supplies. But no more than $10 for all the items and I can use the remainder for future DIY projects!
This Easy Pin Board is perfect to display earrings, bracelets and necklaces. It also makes a great board for your families groceries, chores or just as a message center! It is both pretty and functional for your work space as well. It makes a great gift or simply keep it for yourself!
I truly hope you have success making this Easy Pin Board. I love mine!
