Roasted Red Peppers are simply beautiful red peppers, brushed with oil and roasted till the skin is a bit charred. Commonly found in Mexican cuisine, these flavorful and colorful little peppers take on a deliciously sweet flavor with a hint of that char.
How To Roast Red Bell Peppers
It just takes a few minutes and a bit of prep for the most flavorful peppers imaginable!
- Wash peppers, blot dry, cut into quarters and remove seeds.
- Mix oil and seasoning, brush onto peppers.
- Roast in air fryer.
Recipes Using Roasted Red Peppers
Roasted Red Pepper Sauce:Â Blend 2 roasted red peppers with 2 cloves roasted garlic, 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning and 1 cup light cream in a blender. Pour into a saucepan and heat on low heat. Pour over pasta, meatballs, chicken – you name it!
Roasted Red Pepper Spread:Â Puree 2 roasted red peppers with 1 Tablespoon olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning, 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar and sugar or honey, to taste (about 1/2 teaspoon). Spread over toasted bread, on a panini, wraps or sandwiches. Delicious!
Roasted Red Pepper Hummus – Simply add 2 pureed roasted red peppers to 1 cup prepared hummus and blend. Delicious as a dip for chips, veggies or even chicken tenders.
What If I Don’t Have An Air Fryer?
No Problem! Simply prep the red peppers in the same way and place them cut side down on a foil lined baking sheet or pan. Roast in a 450ËšF oven for about 20 minutes.

- 2 red bell peppers
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Wash red peppers, and blot dry with a paper towel.
- Cut peppers from the bottom and spread apart. Cut into quarters and remove seeds. Set on air fryer rack.
- Mix oil and seasoning in a bowl, and brush onto peppers.
- Set air fryer to 400ËšF and allow it to come to full temperature. Cook peppers for 8 minutes.
