Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup cocoa
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 4 Tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  • Beat together 1 cup sugar, ½ cup cocoa, ½ cup flour, and ½ teaspoon salt. Stir in 2 cups milk and 4 egg yolks.
  • Cook over medium heat until boiling and thickened. This should take about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Stir in 4 Tablespoon butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
  • Pour into prepared pie crust, or into dessert dishes, chill for 2 to 4 hours.
