- 1 loaf thick sliced bread , such as Texas Toast, 675 gram size
- 9 eggs
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 cups milk
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup frozen blueberries or fresh
- ¼ package cream cheese
Topping
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- ⅓ cup flour
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ cup butter
The Casserole
Cut bread into 1 inch cubes, place in a bowl.
Whisk eggs, add milk, cream, cinnamon, brown sugar and vanilla. Pour over bread and toss to coat.
Pour bread mixture into prepared pan. Sprinkle blueberries over top.
Cut cold cream cheese into small cubes, and spread evenly over top.
Topping
Mix together brown sugar, flour and cinnamon. Cut cold butter into mixture with 2 knives, a pastry blender, or just using your fingers, until completely blended.
Sprinkle evenly over top of casserole.
Baking Instructions
Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for 20-30 more minutes, or until a thermometer inserted reaches 160˚F.
Remove and allow to sit 10 minutes before serving.
