Skillet Fried Corn
- The spice is right! No more boring side dishes at the dinner table. Using ingredients that are full of flavor, a side of corn will never be the same.
- You can easily modify this recipe! Use fresh, canned or even frozen corn, add more or less jalapeno depending on the degree of heat desired, or add in other favorite veggies or aromatics to suit anyone’s personal preferences. Why not add some sausage or chicken to the pan for a hearty entree style dish.
- Fried corn makes a delicious side along with so many dishes! Try it with sausage, chicken, beef or pork. My family loves it with pierogi casserole or chicken enchiladas.
Skillet Fried Corn Ingredients
Corn – Fresh is always best, but if you don’t have access to a corn field brimming with golden corn, then use frozen or canned corn. No matter what, fried corn is always delicious! Add a bit of butter for a creamy and rich flavor that will bring out the delicious sweetness of the corn.
Bacon – Everybody loves bacon! It adds a salty and savory touch to this simple side dish. Use different types of bacon, like maple or smoked, for different flavor profiles.
Jalapenos – Use the whole jalapeno, seeds and all, if you want to crank up the heat. Or remove the seeds entirely for delicious flavor without the heat. The best part of being the chef is the ability to please your own taste buds!
Other Tasty Additions!
Try different flavor combinations to satisfy any craving!
- Add diced bell peppers and onions for a colorful and tasty side!
- Try a blend of your favorite garden herbs like parsley, thyme, dill or rosemary.
- Crumbled feta or cojita along with a drizzle of lime and chopped cilantro would make a tasty south of the border inspired side dish.
