Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • cup flour
  • ½ cup cocoa
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup chopped nuts optional
  • ½ cup chocolate chips optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350˚F and prepare a 8x8 inch pan, either by greasing the pan or lining it with parchment paper
  • Mix all dry ingredients together in a medium bowl.
  • Melt butter, add vanilla and eggs. Mix and add to dry ingredients. Stir to combine.
  • Turn into an 8x8 inch baking pan. The batter will be thick.
  • Bake for 20 minutes. Check after 15 minutes and then every 2 minutes after that. The brownie will seem underdone when you take it out of the oven.
  • Cover immediately with foil and allow to cool.
  • You can frost this brownie or you can serve it alone - either way it's so delicious!
