- 1½ cups brown sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ⅓ cup salted butter
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla
- ½ teaspoon vinegar or lemon juice
Over low heat, melt butter, brown sugar and cream.
Bring to a rolling boil and keep there for 1 minute.
Remove from heat. Add vanilla and vinegar.
Cool, stirring occasionally. Pour into container.

Begin the 1 minute cook time after the sauce has come to a full rolling boil.

Allow sauce cool in the sauce pan and stir it occasionally.

If crystals begin to form on the sides of the pan, heat slowly and add a touch more vinegar.
