Elixer Essentials
Vodka: Use your favorite brand vodka for this recipe, or use a citrus infused vodka for even more flavor.
Triple Sec: Triple Sec is the favorite for this recipe, but other orange based liquors will also work such as Cointreau or Grand Marnier.
Cranberry Juice: Nothing can provide the iconic ruby red color and tartness that defines the cosmopolitan better than cranberry juice. Pomegranate juice is a close second with delicious taste.
Lime Juice: While fresh is best, lime juice in a bottle can be a convenient addition.
Ice Cubes: Ice is essential for chilling this delicious drink.
Optional Garnishes: Sugared rims, fresh cranberries, and rosemary sprigs bring a beautiful, festive flair to this cocktail. Not necessary, but highly recommended.
Creative Cocktail Combinations
Agave syrup or simple syrup can be added for a slightly sweeter drink.
Replace vodka with sparkling water or a non-alcoholic spirit and substitute triple sec with orange juice.
